McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home is Stepping Out for Hospice Event Sponsor

McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home is event sponsor for 18th annual Step Out for Hospice on Sept. 27. The funeral home has a location in Wilmington.

McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home recently signed on as event sponsor for the 18th annual Step Out for Hospice Walk/Run on Sunday, Sept. 27, in Woburn, to benefit VNA Hospice Care.

“We’re grateful to everyone at McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home for the many years they’ve supported Step Out for Hospice,” said Joe McDonough, co-chair of the volunteer group Woburn Friends of VNA Hospice Care.

Connie McGilvray, co-chair of the Woburn Friends, added, “Charitable support from businesses and individuals makes a difference right here in local communities. Donations enable VNA Hospice Care’s staff to provide care and comfort and promote the dignity of individuals and families facing a life-limiting illness.”

VNA Hospice Care, established in 1979, is based in Woburn and serves area communities including Wilmington. McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home is located in Woburn, and the Dello Russo family also has locations in Medford and Wilmington.

Step Out for Hospice begins at the Irish American Club of Woburn, 147 Main St., and goes around Horn Pond. The free, 1-Mile Fun Run for children ages 13 and under starts at 11:30 a.m. Prizes and a limited number of T-shirts will be available for Fun Run participants. The 3-Mile Walk starts at noon, and 5-mile Road Race at12:30 pm. Participants are invited to enjoy the post-walk/run festivities, including live music and dancing, chowder, hotdogs, popcorn, beer, and raffle.

Preregister now for the Walk or Road Race for a discounted fee of $30. Step Out for Hospice sweatshirts are guaranteed for Walk and Road Race entries received by Sept. 23. The Fun Run is free; preregistration is appreciated.
