RMLD Conducting Equipment Inspections
If you see crews around town, this is what's happening.

From now and for the next 12 months the Reading Municipal Light Department is collecting GPS points of its electrical distribution equipment around town to validate the current Geographic Information System model in the RMLD territory, including Wilmington.
RMLD has hired Davey Resource Group to collect this data.
“This data will provide utility mapping and inventory solutions in order to take full advantage of the capabilities of a new platform,” said RMLD Director of Engineering and Operations Hamid Jaffari.

The DRG field workers will wear protective gear marked with their company’s name and they will carry identification while they survey the equipment. Their services will include pole and equipment inventory, GPS field collection and verification, as well as GIS database development, streetlights and underground access surveys.
The project is scheduled to begin in mid-September and expected to last for 12 months.
