School starts for grades one through 12 in less than two weeks.
The first day of school is just a couple of weeks away. We know, summer went by too fast.
Nonetheless, parents can get a head start on September planning, though. The September school lunch menus are currently posted online.

So when is the first day of school for Wilmington Public School students?
- Tuesday, Sept. 1: First day of school for students in grade one through 12.
- Tuesday, Sept. 8: First day of school for children in preschool and kindergarten.
There is no school on Friday, Sept. 4 or on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.

Here are some other important upcoming school year dates for Wilmington Public School students:
- Friday, Oct. 9: No school, teacher development day
- Monday, Oct. 12: No school, Columbus Day
- Wednesday, Nov. 11: No School, Veterans Day
- Friday, Nov. 20: Early release day
- Wednesday, Nov. 25: Early release day
- Thursday, Nov. 26: No school, Thanksgiving
- Friday, Nov. 27: No school
- Thursday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 1: No school, December vacation
- Monday, Jan. 4: Classes resume
