Want to Serve on Wilmington's Finance Committee?

The town is seeking to fill one open position on the Finance Committee. The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 23.

Have you ever wanted to serve on Wilmington’s Finance Committee? If so, you’re in luck. The town is seeking to fill one open position on the board.

The Finance Committee consists of nine registered voters who serve on a voluntary basis for staggered three-year terms. Its principle role is to review the Town Manager’s annual budget and to provide voters with recommendations related to the budget and warrant articles for the Annual and Special Town Meetings.

The current vacancy will be for a term to expire at the adjournment of Annual Town Meeting in May 2018.

Wilmington residents interested in being considered for this position should submit a letter of interest and resume or a completed application to the Town Manager’s Office, 121 Glen Road Wilmington MA 01887 or via email to bdalton@wilmingtonma.gov.

Letters of interest, resumes and/or applications should be submitted by Friday, Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m.

The chairman of the Board of Selectmen, the chairman of the Finance Committee and the Town Moderator serve as the Appointing Committee for the Finance Committee. They will review received applications and select the person to fill the vacant position. The Appointing Committee will be meeting Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. in Room 9 of the Town Hall to hear from applicants about their interest in serving on the Finance Committee, and to select the person for the open position. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend this meeting.
