Wilmington High Risk Again With 148 Active Coronavirus Cases

The town's case count rose and the test rate crossed the 5 percent threshold to be considered high-risk.

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington was again designated high risk for the coronavirus by the state Thursday, as the positive test rate crossed the 5 percent threshold.

The town added 132 cases and reported a 5.62 percent positive rate over the last two weeks, according to the latest state data. There were 142 positives among 2,525 people tested.

The Wilmington Health Department reported 148 active positives and over 500 people in quarantine for potential exposure to the virus Thursday.

Along with the latest town-by-town numbers, the state reported 6,477 new cases Thursday, the most on record. The state reported 5,192 Friday, still the second-highest on record.
