Wilmington's Panera Has a New Owner

Panera franchisee PR Management Corp. recently acquired 29 bakery-cafes in Massachusetts.

PR Management Corp., a Panera Bread franchisee, recently announced it has acquired 29 bakery-cafes in Massachusetts, including Wilmington. The corporation also entered into an agreement with Panera, LLC, to open 14 more in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

“Taking ownership of these additional 29 bakery-cafes is certainly a testament to our ongoing growth as a company. Our rapid growth means the creation of many new jobs and opportunities over the coming months and years,” said David Peterman, Co-founder of PR Management Corp, in a statement. “We are grateful to everyone who has made this expansion possible, and we look forward to the numerous possibilities as a result.”

The corporation now owns Panera locations throughout the state, including locally in Wilmington, Bedford, Burlington and Woburn.

“We are thrilled to begin integrating our new locations into PR Management Corp.,” said Mitchell Roberts, Co-founder and CEO of PR Management Corp, in an announcement. “We will continue to dedicate ourselves to upholding Panera Bread’s whole hearted mission as a welcoming place to eat with friends and family.”

PR Management Corp. was formed in 1997, and in addition to owning 64 Paneras, actively supports the charities for UMass Memorial Cancer Center and the Boys & Girls Clubs.
