1 Dead After Double Shooting On Sturgis Street: Worcester Police
Police are investigating a double shooting that happened in the early morning hours on Sunday.

WORCESTER, MA—One is dead in the second homicide in the city this year after a shooting in the early morning hours on Sunday.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 29, police were called to Sturgis Street, where shots had reportedly just been fired. Several people were in the road when police got there, and as police approached the scene they found a 28-year-old man on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital, and is in serious condition.
Officers noticed three parked cars had been hit with stray bullets. Witnesses told police that a man had come from the side of a home and started to fire several shots before fleeing the scene.

While interviewing witnesses it was learned that a second shooting victim, a 23-year-old male, arrived in the emergency room of a local hospital. The second victim was transported there by a family member.
The 23-year-old male was suffering from a life threatening injury and was immediately transported to another hospital for treatment. The 23-year-old succumbed to his injuries and pronounced deceased earlier on Sunday. This is the second homicide for the city this year.
