Body Found In Maine ID'd as Sturbridge Woman
The apparent victim of a murder suicide has been identified.

STURBRIDGE, MA–The victim of a murder-suicide that happened last week in Maine has been identified as a Sturbridge woman.
The woman whose body was found in the trunk of a car in Maine last week has been identified as 28-year-old Maddilyn Burgess, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.
Maine State Police said that Gyrth Rutan, 34, committed suicide in front of a Trooper after being pulled over in Gardiner, Maine, on Thursday afternoon. Police discovered the body of Burgess in the trunk, the apparent victim of a murder.

Sturbridge Police and the State Police Detectives investigated after Maine State Police discovered Rutan resided at 5 Fairview Park Road, Apt. 12, in Sturbridge. Detectives searched Rutan’s residence on Friday and discovered evidence of a crime scene there.
The Medical Examiner in Maine determined that Burgess died of blunt force injuries.
