First Worcester Jersey Mike's Location 'Coming Soon'
The first location of the national sub chain will likely open in a gas station, according to the company.
WORCESTER, MA — The national sub chain Jersey Mike's has been busy opening stores across the region in recent years, and it appears Worcester is next.
In 2022, franchisees opened Jersey Mike's locations in Hudson, Westborough and Milford, coming on the heels of openings in Marlborough and Shrewsbury previously. According to the "coming soon" page on the company's website, the next location in the region will be at 187 Madison St.
That's the address of a remodeled gas station on the southwest side of the Kelley Square bean-shaped rotary. The Kelley Square store would be the first in Worcester, with the closest location along Route 9 in Shrewsbury.

The chain was founded in the 1950s in Point Pleasant, N.J. In 2014, Jersey Mike's embarked on a nationwide expansion, aiming to grow to 5,000 locations.
