A Worcester man is facing breaking and entering charges.

WORCESTER, MA—A man is facing breaking and entering charges after allegedly barging into a home after midnight when one of the residents was home.

Around 12:28 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, police headed to Lake Ave. for a report of a break-in that had just occurred at an apartment. They met with the victims, a 47-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman.

The man was sleeping and the rear door was unlocked, leaving it open from his girlfriend, who was due home from work. The male victim woke up and saw someone he didn't know standing over him. He jumped out of bed and asked the suspect why he was there and in the apartment. The victim grabbed hold of the suspect and tried to pull him out of the apartment when his girlfriend came home. The suspect said he was related to the landlord and there to check on the apartment.

After he left, the victims called the landlord, who had no knowledge of such a thing, said officials.

They called police at that point, and shortly after, the suspect came back and tried to get in. He was "escorted" out yet again.
