Man Allegedly Pulls Switchblade On Paramedics: Arrested By WPD
Paramedics said that when they got to the scene, Dulmaine was lying on the ground, and when they approached him, he pulled a switchblade.

WORCESTER, MA—A man is facing charges after attacking the responders who were trying to help him, according to police.
Around 10:26 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, Worcester police responded to the area of 21 Myrtle St., where a man had reportedly passed out. Paramedics had reportedly arrived and the man who had passed out tried to pull a knife on them, said police. The paramedics were unable to disarm the man.
When officers got there, they met with three paramedics, who gave them a double edged switchblade that had allegedly come from the suspect, identified as Thomas Dulmaine, 49, Apthorp Street, Worcester.

Paramedics said that when they got to the scene, Dulmaine was lying on the ground, and when they approached him, he pulled a switchblade from his pocket and threatened them. While still on the ground, one of the paramedics was able to step on Dulmaine’s hand and remove the weapon from his grip, said police.
Dulmaine was placed under arrest. While waiting for the police transport vehicle Dulmaine began to verbally harass the paramedics.

Dulmaine was charged with 3 counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and one count of Carrying a Dangerous Weapon. Dulmaine was transported to Worcester County District Court later in the afternoon for arraignment.
There were no injuries reported during this incident.
