Man Indicted In 2021 Killing Of Woman In Kelley Square: DA

The 32-year-old assaulted the Worcester woman in her home, causing injuries that led to her death, prosecutors said.

WORCESTER, MA — A local man has been indicted on a murder and other charges in connection to the 2021 death of a Worcester woman.

According to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office, Erica Lara was found dead in her Kelley Square apartment in June 2021.

Last week, Kyle Curley, 32, was indicted on a murder charge in connection to Lara's death. Curley assaulted Lara before she died, prosecutors said.

"Worcester Police detectives and prosecutors from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office determined Curley lived with Ms. Lara. He is accused of assaulting Ms. Lara and leaving her with injuries that caused her death," the DA's office said in a news release.

Curley was previously arrested and arraigned on charged in December on charges relates to Lara's death. A grand jury indicted him Friday on charges of murder, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and intimidation of a witness.
