Man Stabbed In Grocery Store Parking Lot: Worcester PD

Police are looking for suspects after a knife fight broke out in a Shaw's lot.

WORCESTER, MA—One man was stabbed and suffered injuries after a fight broke out in a grocery store parking lot in Worcester on Friday night.

On Aug. 3 around 9 p.m., police were called to the lot at Shaw's at 14 West Boylston St., where six or so people were reportedly fighting. Police were told that one person had a knife, but when officers got there, they couldn't locate the fight.

Later, police received a call from a hospital that a stabbing victim, a 20-year-old male, had come in to the emergency room. He had gotten the wound from the fight in the supermarket and suffered from a non-life threatening injury.

The victim said to police that he was getting out of his car when a man confronted him verbally. They fought and a second man came from behind and got involved in the fight, the victim told police. The victim's friend got out of the car to help his friend in the fight. The victim and his friend jumped back in the car and took off when the victim realized he had been stabbed and drove himself to the hospital.

The altercation doesn't appear to be random, according to police.
