Multiple Mass Pike Detours Near Worcester This Week Due To Construction

WORCESTER, MA — There will be ramp closures all this week along the Mass Pike in the Worcester area, according to MassDOT.

The closures will impact traffic using key ramps in Millbury and along I-290 in Auburn as MassDOT continues several key repair projects.

Through Friday morning, ramps at exit 96 to Route 122 in both directions will be closed during nighttime hours.

"When the I-90 eastbound and westbound (exit 96) on-ramps from Route 122 to I-90 are closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signs and use Route 20 westbound in order to access I-90 at exit 94 (Route 146 / Route 20)," MassDOT said in a bulletin.

Through Thursday morning, the I-90 bridge over Route 12 in Auburn will be under repair with the following detour:

"When the I-290 westbound off-ramp to I-90 (Exit 12A) is closed, traffic will be directed to take exit 12B and follow the detour signs for Route 12 Auburn in order to access I-90 eastbound and westbound," MassDOT said.

One additional detour will take place overnight Thursday until early Friday morning:

"When the I-90 ramp to I-395 southbound and I-290 eastbound is closed, traffic will be directed to follow the detour signage to Route 12 southbound then on to the ramp for I-395 southbound and I-290 eastbound," MassDOT advised.
