WORCESTER, MA—A woman was the victim of a possible drowning at Lake Park in Worcester on Saturday morning, according to police. On July 28 around 8:03 a.m., Worcester Police responded to 295 Lake Avenue (Lake Park) for a report of a possible drowning. Officers found a 37-year-old female face down in the water near the shore, located in the area where Coburn Avenue and Bridle Path meet. The victim was pronounced deceased at approximately 8:22 a.m.Detectives responded to the areas and talked with two men who called police to report seeing the victim. The victim was transported to the medical examiners office for a post mortem examination. Although the apparent cause of death appears to be an accidental drowning, the exact cause of death will not be determined until the conclusion of the autopsy.
