Route 20 Closure Tonight Due To MassDOT Construction
All westbound Route 20 lanes will be shut down beginning Thursday night for work related to a larger rebuild of the road.
CHARLTON, MA — MassDOT will close a section of Route 20 in Charlton and Oxford Thursday night as part of an ongoing overhaul of the state highway.
All westbound lanes between Richardson Corner Road in Charlton and Route 56 in Oxford will close at 9 p.m. Thursday until around 5 a.m. Friday. During that time, construction crews will be replacing culverts underneath the roadway.
Drivers will encounter a detour that will use Route 56, Stafford Street, Hammond Hill Road and Oxbow Road. Drivers can then use the eastbound lanes to access parts of the closed roadway, according to MassDOT.
