Thief Uses Play-Doh To Block Security Camera, Leaves Fingerprint

This shoplifter used some Play-Doh to circumvent security, and left a real nice fingerprint in the Doh while doing so.

LEICESTER, MA—Falling into the "stupid criminals" category, a local police department likely got some damning evidence out of the very item used to get away with a crime.

Recently, a shoplifter tried to circumvent a security device at a Leicester store by pressing some Play-Doh into it. Yes, the bright, smooshy toy normally used by kids to shape animals and fake food.

The shoplifter pressed the Doh into the camera to block it, meanwhile leaving a fingerprint behind in said Play-Doh. Not only did the blockage not work too well, but there's a perfectly pressed fingerprint for police to work with to identify.
