Woman Arrested For Allegedly Biting Boyfriend's Forehead

A part of the man's skull was showing, according to police reports.

SOUTHBRIDGE, MA—

Around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, officers were called to a residence on Charlton Street for a disturbance. A large amount of blood was on the floor , and a 49-year-old man in the apartment was bleeding heavily from his forehead. A large part of his skin was missing from his forehead and his skull was visible, said the police report. The man was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The man identified Joyce Owens, his girlfriend, as the person who bit him on his forehead during an argument, and told police that she bit him and ran away.

Police located Owens laying on a dirt floor in the basement of the building. Owens, 46, of Southbridge, was arrested and charged with mayhem and domestic assault and battery. Owens was arraigned in Dudley District Court on Thursday March 15 and was held on bail.
