WORCESTER, MA — With school in Worcester back in session, the main library branch will expand its weekend hours.

Beginning Oct. 15, the main branch at 3 Salem Square will be open Sundays through April 21. The library is closed during spring and summer when students are out of school, although other branches across the city typically expand hours during those seasons.

The Sunday hours will be noon to 4 p.m., although the library may be closed due to holidays some Sundays, according to library officials — for example, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, around Christmas and New Year's, and for federal holidays that fall on Mondays, like Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
