Worcester Security Guard Shot At Truck Driver During Confrontation
The security guard blocked the pickup driver, who was driving recklessly near Tatnuck Square, according to police.

WORCESTER, MA — A local security guard was arrested and charged over the weekend after he opened fire on the driver of a pickup truck during a confrontation at a McDonald's along Mill Street.
According to police, William Trotta, 78, a security guard at the Scruffy Murphy's plaza, had previously noticed a pickup truck driver driving dangerously through the 638 Chandler St. shopping center. Around 8 p.m. Saturday, the driver returned and drove aggressively through the lot before pulling into the McDonald's next door.
Trotta followed the driver, police said, and parked behind him to prevent the driver from leaving. When Trotta knocked on the driver's window, the driver backed up into Trotta's car. Trotta then opened fire, police said.
