Birmingham prefers the up and coming shopper.

Seniors slowly being excluded?

Electronically changing the ways to park and visit uptown Birmingham are narrowing shopping choices. Is this what the City intended? Certainly seem that way. It's not to my liking or taste. I have a 17 year old car. I get in, put the key in the ignition, turn it and I'm ready to go. I appreciate the fact the car won't move out of park until the brake pedal is pushed. To compare it to me buying a new car. Yikes! I would need a six week course on how to drive the new car, probably twice. Some day, I hope, there will be a new surge claiming, modernized in the latest fashion, driving made simple AND parking and putting money in the 'old fashioned' parking meter. These new programs will limit any visits uptown. Too bad.
