β’ TCH has buyer, requests court to nix lawsuit (downtownpublications.com) β Birminghamβs Community House Association is asking a judge to dismiss the cityβs lawsuit seeking to block the sale of its landmark Bates Street building, arguing Birmingham has no legal standing and deed restrictions allow the deal. A well-funded charitable buyer has reportedly offered above appraised value, plans to keep many current uses, and could take over as soon as July 1 if the sale closes in February.

β’ Walled Lake Northern boys basketball wants to 'own the paint' (hometownlife.com) β Walled Lake Northernβs boys basketball team leaned on its size to beat Birmingham Seaholm 39-27 in a Holiday Extravaganza game at North Farmington, dominating scoring in the paint. The Knightsβ twin towers, 6-7 junior Gavin Delaney and 6-6 senior Jack Cooper, combined inside play and outside skills to create matchup problems that could make Northern a Lakes Valley contender.
