Circus, Midway Games Featured at Great Lakes State Fair
Take a look at what there is to do at the revamped Michigan state fair this weekend in Novi.
The Great Lakes State Fair will have a variety of activities taking place throughout Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 3, at the in Novi.
The highlights include circus performances, midway rides and games, and .
βWe literally have something for everyone that will either tickle your funny bone, take your breath away or satisfy your appetite for a tasty treat,β said Kent Roberts, vice chairman of the Great Lakes State Fair Board, in a statement.

Plans for activities are as follows.
Circus Entertainment
Detroitβs own Shrine Circus, produced by Tarzan Zerbani, will entertain crowds under the worldβs largest Big Top. Circus shows will include musical clowns and animal acts, including ponies, canines, tigers and elephants. Aerial daredevils will perform death defying feats on motorcycles, roller skates and in giant wheels and massive swings.

Midway games, rides and treats
On the Midway, Michigan-based Arnold Amusements will be providing more than 20 rides, including a merry-go-round, Ferris whell, Shock Drop and Pharaoh's Fury.
The Midway will also have 15 games, including duck pond, milk bottle, rock wall, speedball and more. More than 30 varieties of treats will also be available on the Midway, including elephant ears, deep-fried Twinkies and Oreos, corn dogs, cotton candy, hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries.
