DIA To Host 'Mustache Day' in Celebration of Salvador Dalí
Visitors with mustaches receive free general admission to the Detroit Institute of Arts Aug. 3-5.

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is offering free museum admission to any visitor who wears a mustache—real or fake—from Friday, Aug. 3 to Sunday, Aug. 5 during regular museum hours.
The promotion celebrates the eccentric appearance of Salvador Dalí, whose painting Soft Construction with Boiled Beans is currently on view in the DIA’s exhibition Five Spanish Masterpieces.
This weekend, visitors can enjoy a variety of museum programs, including The Dalí Project—a puppet performance that explores Dalí’s embrace of the subconscious through various forms of puppetry—presented by Puppet Junction.
