Families Enjoy the E.L. Johnson Nature Center
Families had their fill of bats, fish, cider and more at the annual event sponsored by the Friends of the Johnson Nature Center.
Whether it was a lesson on local and special bat species, or hands-on handling of sun fish or canoe oars in the water, families from around Bloomfield took advantage of what te E.L. Johnson Nature Center has to offer during the 7th annual Family Fun Day over the weekend.
Indoors, children and adults of all ages, gained a new perspectives about bats during engaging presentations by Michelle Maust of the Organization for Bat Conservation in Bloomfield Hills. Outdoors, families fished and canoed together on the waterfront, and explored the numerous trails that snake across the 35-acre refuge.
The Friends of the Johnson Nature Center sponsored the event with the help of a grant offered by Critter Catchers, Inc.
