This week Patch sadly reported on the Funeral for Slain Franklin Resident Harry Berkowitz.

Gail Kitchens expressed her condolences and posted "I am so saddened to learn of Mr. Berkowitz's passing! He was an amazing educator. I had him MANY years ago as my 6th Grade teacher at Quarton Elementary School in Birmingham. He used creative projects to bring lessons to life for his students. I have thought of him many times over the years and can tell you to this day about the wonderful projects we worked on! He was a gift to his students and will live on in the memories of many I am certain!"
