Man Punched Over Parking Dispute Outside Bloomfield Township Post Office

The alleged assailant was apparently upset over losing a parking space he was waiting for, police said.

Investigators with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are trying to identify a man accused of punching another man in the face over a parking space outside the Bloomfield Township Postal Store.

Officers responded to the parking lot at 2211 Telegraph Rd. on Jan. 11 and found a 61-year-old man with a cut and swollen lip, reports said. He told police that he parked his car and was approached by a couple that appeared to be about 50 years old and the dispute over the parking space began. The victim said he unintentionally pulled into the spot that couple was waiting for in another vehicle.

The man punched him and then left the area before police arrived. A witness told police they saw the license plate number of the alleged assailants vehicle, and the case is ongoing.

No need for medical attention was mentioned in the report.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 248-433-7752.
