The National Weather Service predicts a chance of showers, mainly before 11 a.m. today. Friday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 45 degrees. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

2. Spaghetti Dinner

The American Legion Post 419 in Pinckney will host a spaghetti dinner today from 5-8 p.m. Adults are $6, seniors, $5, children (9 and under), $3. For more information, call 734-878-9522.

3. Chelsea football versus Ypsilanti

The Bulldogs will face Ypsilanti tonight at 7 p.m. at Ypsilanti High School. For more information, visit the team's webpage on MLive.

4. Gas prices

MichiganGasPrices.com reports the lowest price in the Chelsea area is $4.09 at the Marathon station, 20941 N. Territorial Road as of Thursday night.

5. This day in history

Sept. 14, 1975: On this day Elizabeth Ann Seton was canonized by Pope Paul VI at the Vatican in Rome, becoming the first American-born Catholic saint.

Born in New York City in 1774, Elizabeth Bayley was the daughter of an Episcopalian physician. She devoted much of her time to charity work with the poor and in 1797 founded the Society for the Relief of Poor Widows with Small Children in New York. For more historic dates, visit www.history.com.
