Chelsea Police Blotter: Bike Stolen, Car Scratched

Bike stolen

Around 2:23 a.m. Aug. 25, the Chelsea Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Middle Street on the report of a larceny of a bicycle.

The resident told police he had parked his bike on West Middle Street around 1 a.m. and when he returned around 2 a.m. it was missing.


The bike owner checked around the area but could not find his bike, the police report states. The bicycle was described as a red men’s mountain bike with new black metal peddles and a black gel seat cover.

Vehicle scratched

Around 11:41 a.m. on Aug. 28, Chelsea Police responded to the 200 block of South Main Street on the report of a Malicious Destruction Of Property complaint.

According to the police report, a woman told officers that she had parked her vehicle on South Main Street around 10:55 a.m. and when she returned at 11:40 a.m. there was a large scratch across part of the driver's side door and fender.

The scratch appeared to have been made with a hard rigid instrument, such as a key, police said.
