Not Quite Spring: Freezing Rain, Snow to Hit Chelsea Area Friday

In the battle of spring vs. winter this week in Chelsea, winter is about to take the lead.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service are predicting a chance of rain before 2 p.m. Friday, then rain possibly mixed with snow.

There is an 80 percent chance for this wintry mix on Friday with a high near 39 and new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 90 percent chance for precipitation Friday night with a low around 26. The wintry mix will become all snow after 8 p.m., and there may be new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

There is a potential for the Friday evening rush hour to be impacted.
