$106K 7-Eleven Robber Faces 3 Felonies

A 29-year-old Mt. Clemens man could face the rest of his life in prison in connection with a Clinton Township robbery.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI - A 29-year-old Mt. Clemens man has been charged with three felonies in connection with an Aug. 10 robbery of an armored car guard at a 7-Eleven store in Clinton Township. Andrew Harris was arraigned Monday at 41-B District Court on armed robbery, felony firearm and a felon in possession of a firearm charges, which could land him in prison for the rest of his life.

Police allege that Harris stole $106,000 from the guard. In a Monday news release, Clinton Township Capt. Richard Maierle said all but $3,000 of the money was recovered.

Police believe Harris approached the armored car driver at the 7-Eleven store at 37335 Harper north of 16 Mile Road at about 12:30 p.m. and took the money at gunpoint. Evidence related to the robbery was located and recovered, police said.

The criminal charges came from two warrants issued by The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. Bond was set for Harris at $50,000 cash for each of the two warrants. A probably cause hearing date was not announced, but are usually held within two weeks of arraignment.
