Clinton Township Couple Critically Injured In Motorcycle Crash
A Clinton Township couple were critically injured Thursday evening in a Gratiot Avenue accident.
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A Clinton Township couple were critically injured Thursday evening after their 2008 Honda motorcycle was struck broadside at the intersection of Gratiot Avenue and Telstar Street, Chesterfield Township police said in a news release. A 58-year-old Chesterfield Township man driving a Toyota sedan struck as the coupled head northbound on Gratiot.
Police said the man stopped immediately and witness all came to the aid of the couple. The husband, 59, and wife, 56, were transported to McLaren Macomb where they were listed in critical, but stable condition overnight, police said. The Chesterfield Township man that struck them was uninjured and later released from the scene.

He told officers that he simply did not see the motorcycle as he pulled out onto Gratiot. The Chesterfield Township man turned to go southbound on Gratiot from Telstar.
Chesterfield Police said an investigation is ongoing. The department said alcohol, drugs, and speed do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
