Man Stabs Roommate in Hand; $60K of Flirty Fashions Merchandise Stolen in Clinton Twp.

Man stabs roommate in hand with kitchen knife

On Oct. 2, at approximately 11:28 a.m., Clinton Township police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 23000 block of South Keystone Way.

A neighbor called police after the victim came to his home with a bloody hand, saying his roommate had stabbed him, according to the police report.

The victim told police he was sleeping on the couch in his apartment when his roommate started yelling at him. During the argument, the suspect grabbed a knife from the kitchen and swung it at the victim, cutting his hand, according to the police report.

The suspect told police the victim cut himself, but when pressed by police, he was unable to explain how the victim got the knife during the fight.

A third individual in the apartment heard the fight, but did not see the stabbing take place, the report says.

The suspect, a 41-year-old man, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and outstanding warrants, according to the police report.

Former Flirty Fashions employee suspected of stealing $60K worth of merchandise

On Oct. 2, the owner of Flirty Fashions at 17420 Hall Road reported to Clinton Township police the theft of around $60,000 worth of merchandise between July 29 and Sept. 1.

There is an insurance claim pending, and mall security are currently reviewing tapes to identify the suspect, who is believed to be a former employee of the store.

Employee reports assault by co-worker

On Sept. 30, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Clinton Township police responded to the report of an assault at 1085 S. Gratiot.

The victim told police she had been talking to an employee about his hours when he got mad and starting yelling at her. She told him he was fired and he tried to grab a stack of payroll checks from a nearby desk, according to the police report.

When the victim tried to stop him from grabbing the checks, the suspect shoved her into a corner, still trying to get the checks. The victim called for help and a third employee contacted police, according to the report.

No arrests have been made in this case.

Search on for label-swapping Meijer shoplifter

On Sept. 28, loss prevention specialists at the Meijer on Groesbeck reported the return of a repeat shoplifter, known for scanning the labels of lower-priced items but leaving the store with more expensive ones, according to the police report.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s who drives a red Honda Shadow motorcycle, according to police.

On at least five other occasions, the suspect is reported to have gone through the Meijer self-checkout, scanning and paying for lower-priced items, but taking more expensive items, typically meat and beer, out of the store, the report says.

The suspect most recently entered the store around 5 p.m. Sept. 28, purchasing a 30-pack of Milwaukee’s Best Beer. However, when an employee checked the register, it showed the man had scanned the label of a lower-priced item, according to police.

No arrests have been made in this case.
