Search on for Man Who Robbed Chase Bank on Schoenherr Monday

Sterling Heights police are searching for a white male in his early 20s who fled the bank in an older, dark green SUV.

Sterling Heights police are searching for a man in his early 20s who robbed a Chase Bank on Schoenherr Monday.

Police say the man entered the bank at 33051 Schoenherr and passed a note to the teller, which read, “Give me all your money – 20’s, 10’s, 5’s – I know where you work."

The suspect, who is described as a white male standing between 5 foot 8 inches and 5 foot 10 inches tall, then took the note back, placed his backpack on the counter and had the teller deposit more than $1,000 into it. The suspect then fled on foot out of the bank as the teller hit the alarm, according to police.

A witness to the robbery chased the suspect from the bank, over two walls and into the apartment complex north of the bank, where the suspect was seen entering an older, dark green SUV and fleeing the area, according to police.

Police describe the suspect as having short hair, a thin build and light complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray pullover, white hat, white tennis shoes, blue jeans and carrying a black and gray backpack.

The SUV had lettering on the windshield and a Michigan license plate, according to police.
