Wife of Embattled Former Clinton Township Clerk Quits CVS Board

Julie Fitzgerald, who is married to former Clinton Township Clerk George Fitzgerald, is resigning from the Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education. 

The resignation is to be effective June 17, as the family plans to move out of Clinton Township, according to The Macomb Daily. 

Julie Fitzgerald became involved in an ongoing controversy in the township when then Clerk George Fitzgerald brought her in to work as female employees accused him of creating a hostile work environment. George Fitzgerald has failed to appear for recent dispositions in the ongoing federal court case, the newspaper reports. 

Superintendent Ron Roberts praised Julie Fitzgerald's contributions to the school board, which she joined in December 2008.
