Avoid Ticket By Parking Off Street On Garbage Day: City
Vehicles should be kept off of the street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on residents' neighborhood's trash day.

DEARBORN, MI — To avoid a ticket, Dearborn residents will want to park their vehicle in the driveway rather than the street on their designated garbage pickup day. City officials say “public service day” enforcement will start Monday, April 3.
“Residents across the city pay for services with their taxes and they deserve to have them delivered in their neighborhoods in a thorough and effective manner,” Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr. said. “Keeping parked cars off the streets gives us that chance.”
City officials advise residents to keep parked vehicles off of the street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on their neighborhood’s trash day. The public service day program actually began March 6, about a month earlier than in past years. An “education” period has been in effect since then, O’Reilly said in a statement.
Besides trash collection, a number of other services are completed on public service days, including curb-to-curb street sweeping, tree trimming, catch basin cleaning and other services. City officials said these services can take place even after trash is collected in a neighborhood, so parked vehicles must be kept off the street until 4 p.m.
