Dearborn Homecoming Carnival Discounts Available

DEARBORN, MI — A roller coaster is just one of two dozen carnival rides that visitors to Dearborn’s annual Homecoming can enjoy at the festival Aug. 4-6., and they will enjoy it more if they act now to get the best deal on wristbands. Wade Shows, Inc., the carnival operator, is offering two discount carnival pass options only to those who purchase online by Aug. 3 by 11:55 p.m. at www.cityofdearborn.org/homecoming.

The 3-day Mega Pass offers unlimited rides for $44 plus a $1 service fee. The popular all-day wristband costs$15, plus a $1 service fee if purchased online by Aug. 3 at 11:55 p.m. The wristbands allow one day of riding for all carnival attractions and can be used on any day, Friday to Sunday.

Wristbands can also be purchased on site during the carnival and cost $15 for a half-day band (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and $22 for a full day (11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.) A $10 companion wristband is available for parents to ride with their young children (restrictions apply). Individual tickets can also be purchased at Homecoming.

As always, the Dearborn Homecoming Festival is loaded with activities for the entire family. Here’s a list of some of the attractions:

• FAMILY FRIENDLY FRIDAY; MORE KIDS’ ACTIVITIES, NEW LOCATION: More free children’s activities come to the Friday lineup from noon to 5 p.m. Free inflatables, free crafts and games. Children’s activities move to the Hilltop Area for the entire weekend. 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

• CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT SATURDAY Pre-registration required and costs $50 for a two-person team. Social and competitive categories. Noon-6 p.m. Rain day is Sunday. Register by July 29 at www.dearborntheater.com. Walk-up registration may be available but is not guaranteed.
• HOMECOMING 5K & FAMILY FUN RUN SUNDAY Homecoming 5k and 1-mile family fun run on Sunday. Fun run is $15 to register and starts at 7:45 a.m. The 5K is $35 and starts at 8 a.m. www.cityofdearborn.org/homecoming.
• PAINT OUT IN THE PARK Street artists will create artwork in the Hilltop Area to win one of three prizes. Noon-5 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday.
• CHAMBER OF COMMERCE’S CRUISIN’ DEARBORN Cruise: 7 p.m. Friday; Car Show: 7:30-10 p.m. Classic cars cruise along Michigan Avenue from 19th District Court west to Military, north to Cherry Hill and east into Ford Field Park.
