Dearborn HS Thrown Into Lockdown After Bullet Casing Is Found: Police

DEARBORN, MI — Dearborn High School was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after a bullet shell was found in the bathroom, according to police.

School officials initiated a soft lockdown as a precaution and notified police after the bullet casing was found, according to police.

Officers searched the building along with K-9 units and determined there was no credible treat to students or staff, according to police.

The lockdown was lifted at 11:30 a.m. and school activities returned to normal, according to police.

There were no injuries in the incident and police do not know where the bullet casing came from, according to police.

Police were still investigating the incident and said people should expect a large police presence in the area.
