Dearborn Officer Injured In Car Crash On Duty

A Dearborn officer collided with another driver while responding to a report of a stolen vehicle.

DEARBORN, MI — A Dearborn police officer and one other person have been hospitalized after a crash that happened during a police pursuit.

Dearborn officers were responding to the report of a stolen vehicle Wednesday when a backup officer coming to assist collided with another vehicle in the intersection of Ford Road and Beech Daly in Dearborn Heights.

Both the police officer and the driver of the second vehicle in the accident were treated for minor injuries at Garden City Hospital. Dearborn Heights police will investigate the accident.

The stolen vehicle was successfully stopped and the driver was taken into police custody, Dearborn police said.
