Dearborn Partners With Dearborn Allied War Veterans Councils Honor Women Soldiers
The collaboration is asking for all women service members to apply to be honored at this years Memorial Day Ceremony on May 29.

From The City Of Dearborn: The City of Dearborn and the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council are calling all local women who have served or are serving in the U.S. military.
The groups would like to especially recognize female veterans and service members during this year’s Memorial Day events on Monday, May 29. The deadline to apply to participate is April 21.
Current and former women service members will be honored during the solemn ceremony after this year’s Memorial Day Parade.

This year’s ceremony will start after the parade at about noon. It will be the first Memorial Day Ceremony in the new Veterans Park and War Memorial in front of the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Avenue.
For the parade, women who are part of a veterans’ organization or other group are encouraged to have their group register to participate.

Registration is free to all organizations this year and can be completed online via the City website at www.cityofdearborn.org. The parade steps off on May 29 at 10 a.m. on Michigan Avenue near Maple Street.
Other female veterans who are interested in participating in the parade can contact the City at 313-943- 2285 or at publicinformation@ci.dearborn.mi.us also by April 21.
Women in the Military is the theme for this year’s Memorial Day events in Dearborn. The parade will proceed along Michigan Avenue, starting at Maple Street (near the City Hall Artspace Lofts) and move west to end at the Henry Ford Centennial Library.
Last year, 100 groups, including 2,000 participants, marched in the parade before tens of thousands of spectators.
