Dearborn Police Host National Night Out

The family-friendly will feature fun entertainment for kids, including a bounce house and dunk tank, as well as prizes and citizen rewards.

DEARBORN, MI — The Dearborn Police Department invites all residents to attend the free National Night Out on Crime from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Dearborn Police Department, 16099 Michigan Ave.

This family-friendly will feature fun entertainment for kids, including a bounce house and dunk tank, as well as prizes and citizen rewards.

In addition, free hot dogs, drinks and ice cream will be available.

Police will also be providing crime prevention information to educate residents on how to make neighborhoods safer places to live.

“This is an entertaining and informative event for the entire family,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “It will provide the police and community the opportunity to learn about one another in an effort to make our city a safer place.”

Dearborn Police will display new Ford police vehicles, as well as SWAT team, bomb squad, bicycle patrol, K-9 unit and police command post vehicles.

Also at the event will be the Dearborn Fire Department, military displays, as well as displays from the Huron Township Police Mounted Units, Michigan State Police, University of Michigan Police, Fairlane Town Center, Beaumont Hospital Police with a medical flight helicopter and many more.

For 36 years, National Night Out has been enhancing the relationship between communities and law enforcement across the country, while also educating residents on how to make their neighborhoods safer. The event is celebrated across 16,000 communities across all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.
