Five more COVID vaccination clinics are scheduled in Dearborn Public Schools in January.
Four of the locations are first-round clinics and second clinics will be offered three weeks later at the same school. The double clinics allow those starting a Pfizer vaccination to get the second shot from the same location. Vaccinations are available to anyone age 5 or older.
C-ASSIST is providing the clinics. In addition to new vaccinations, all the events will also offer Pfizer and Moderna booster shots and flu shots. All the vaccinations are free. Health professionals will be on hand to answer questions. Gift cards will also be given away.
The four first-time clinics, all from 3 to 7 p.m., include
- Salina Intermediate, 2623 Salina, first clinic Wednesday, Jan. 19 and second Feb. 9.
- Howe Montessori and Trainable Center, 22586 Ann Arbor Trail, Dearborn Heights, first clinic Monday, Jan. 24 and second clinic Feb. 14.
- Becker Elementary, 10821 Henson, Dearborn, first clinic Wednesday, Jan. 26 and second clinic Feb. 16.
- Nowlin Elementary, 23600 Penn, Dearborn, first clinic Thursday, Jan. 27 and second clinic Feb. 17.
The fifth clinic will be held at Lindbergh Elementary on Saturday, Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors can still start their COVID vaccinations at that clinic, but they would need to schedule a second dose at a different C-ASSIST location.
Earlier in January, the CDC expanded who was eligible for COVID booster shots. Now, a person only needs to wait five months after their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine to get a booster and anyone over the age of 12 is eligible for a COVID booster. Those younger than 18 are only able to receive the Pfizer vaccine at this time.
