First Choice Urgent Care Opens Second Clinic in Dearborn

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4 p.m. June 28.

A new urgent care clinic in Dearborn will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday.

First Choice Urgent Care opened its second location in the Dearborn area at the beginning of June.

The clinic, located at 23455 Michigan Ave., has a ER trained staff of five doctors equipped to handle everything from burn and wound care, to minor stitches, sports wounds, broken bones and sexually transmitted disease diagnosis and care.

"We can handle pretty much anything as long as it's not life threatening," office manager Jodi Koehler said.

Koehler said the grand opening will feature a tour of the facility open to the public, and a meet and greet with the clinic's physicians. A ribbon cutting with Mayor John B. O'Reilly, Jr. is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Koehler said the clinic accepts most major insurance carriers. A complete list is available online at http://www.firstchoiceucc.com/.

The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The clinic's Dearborn Heights location, 23822 Ford Road, is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
