Fordson High School Sophomore Designs Nike Shoe
Zahraa Dabaja was picked to help design the LeBron James X PS Elite shoe for Nike.

A 16-year-old Dearborn resident is putting her eye for design to work for Nike.
Zahraa Dabaja, a sophomore at Fordson High School, recently won a competition sponsored by the global footwear company and was picked to design NBA basketball player LeBron James' new shoe.
According to School Life, the student news publication for Dearborn Public Schools, Dabaja met with representatives from Nike and James to approve the design in March.
"I couldn't believe it was LeBron James," she told the newspaper.
A request from Patch.com to interview Dabaja was not granted, and calls to Nike were not returned.
Dabaja told School Life that she credits teacher Mohamad Bazzi's 2-D art class for her success as a designer.
"Mr. Bazzi has helped with my art ability," she said. "His class made me want to do more and challenge my drawing ability. Without his class, I honestly think none of this would have happened."
