New Year's Resolution: Take The Pick Up Pledge In Downtown Dearborn

As the new year begins, resolve to take the Downtown Dearborn Pick Up Pledge from January 22-31.

As the new year begins, resolve to take the Downtown Dearborn Pick Up Pledge from January 22-31 by committing to ordering carry-out and curbside pickup services to support local bars and restaurants, one of the hardest hit industries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even without restrictions that have been enacted over the course of 2020, restaurants have been severely impacted by change of consumer habits during this time. Online or app services that offer delivery from restaurants to homes are convenient, but are expensive for businesses, do not contribute much support for the restaurants who utilize them, and in many cases cost the restaurant negatively to operate.

By keeping it local, a restaurant’s livelihood will benefit by minimizing fees and costs associated with delivery services that restaurants absorb. The Dearborn Downtown Development Authorities and the organizers and restaurateurs who operate Dearborn Restaurant Week challenge the Dearborn community to take the Pick Up Pledge and support Downtown Dearborn restaurants by ordering directly via phone or online, and picking up their orders either through carry out or curbside pick up.

With over fifty dining destinations to choose from, Downtown Dearborn offers a diverse culinary experience at your fingertips. Details and a list of restaurants are available at https://www.downtowndearborn.org/event/downtown-dearborn-pick-up-pledge/.
