• District working on draft bond scenarios after recent board study session (dearbornschools.org) — Dearborn Public Schools leaders are weighing four possible infrastructure bond scenarios that could reshape facilities at Howe, Lowrey, Salina Intermediate, and Whitmore Bolles. With more than $1 billion in building needs identified, trustees are debating bond size, tax impact, and timelines before taking a proposal to Dearborn voters.
   

• Dearborn keeps its accidental Valentine's Day alive in 2026 (freep.com subscription) — Dearborn residents are getting the 2026 city calendar back in their mailboxes, complete with public meeting dates, service schedules, budget breakdowns and bilingual English-Arabic information. After last year’s typo, the city is officially keeping March 14 as “Dearborn Valentine’s Day,” exploring light celebrations that could also give local businesses a small boost.
   

• Former Tigers catcher, Detroit native signs with Giants (mlive.com) — A former Detroit Tigers catcher with roots at Dearborn’s Divine Child High School has signed a minor-league deal with the San Francisco Giants. Eric Haase, who grew up in Westland and still lives in the Detroit area, will compete for a backup catcher spot after two seasons in the Brewers organization.
