Pretrial Date Set for Dearborn Man Accused of Attempted Murder

Police say Ferdinand Lansang attempted to strangle his girlfriend and flee from officers.

A Dearborn man accused of attempting to strangle his girlfriend is due in court June 21 for a pretrial hearing.

Ferdinand Lansang was located and arrested by Dearborn Police Special Operations officers with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Team on June 12.

Lansang was arraigned by 19th District Court Judge Sam Salamey for assault with intent to murder, assault by strangulation, assault with a dangerous weapon (two counts), and domestic violence/aggravated assault. Bond was set at $75,000 cash.

The charges against Lansang are the result of a thorough investigation coordinated by Dearborn Police Detective Marek Noworyta after the victim in the case reported being assaulted, choked and threatened with a weapon by Lansang.

“I commend Cpl. Noworyta for his quality investigation that resulted in multiple criminal charges and the swift arrest of a dangerous individual," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said.
