Road Flooding Possible in Metro Detroit
Heavy rain and thunder storms pelted Metro Detroit shortly before rush hour Wednesday.

METRO DETROIT, MI — The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Wayne County until 7:45 p.m. Shortly before 5 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms, the Weather Service reported. It could cause urban and small stream flooding in Wayne County during rush hour.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Livonia, Taylor, Romulus, Flat Rock, Grosse Pointe, Downtown Detroit, Canton, Detroit, Dearborn, Wyandotte, Trenton, Grosse Ile, Belleville, Westland, Dearborn Heights, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Allen Park, Garden City and Inkster, the National Weather Service said.A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or pondingof water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. The Michigan Department of Transportation reported on Twitter that southbound Southfield Road near Grand River Avenue are flooded.
A severe thunderstorm warning is also in effect until 6:15 p.m.
