'So You Think You Can Dance' Contestants With Dearborn Connections Shine
Metro Detroit dancers are standing out in the Fox reality show.
Reality show dance competition "So You Think You Can Dance" has its Dearborn-area connections in full swing.
Former Dearborn dance student Amy Yakima, 19, of Northville, and Jade Zuberi, 21 of Dearborn Heights, are among the Top 20 contestants in the Fox TV program that runs till Sept. 10, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Yakima won rave reviews during auditions.

“You were absolutely spectacular,” judge Mary Murphy said then. “You make it look effortless. The hair went up on my arms and it doesn’t happen very often, I’ll be honest with you.”
Yakima and Zuberi were among hundreds of dancers who auditioned in Detroit last February, according to the newspaper.
