Teen Shot, Injured Outside Wayne County Shopping Mall: Police

Police said a group of teens were fighting outside the mall when multiple shots were fired.

TAYLOR, MI — A 19-year-old teen was shot and injured over the weekend outside a Wayne County shopping mall, according to police.

The incident happened at 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Southland Mall in Taylor, according to police.

Police said a group of teens were fighting outside the mall when multiple shots were fired.

The teen was shot in the hand and taken to a nearby hospital and expected to be ok, according to police.

The suspected shooter is a 17-year-old, whom police were still looking for, according to police.
